Peter Grygorcewicz

Peter Grygorcewicz's roles and dates of involvement with club
Peter has also served on the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association committee for the first four years and has played more senior games for the club than any other person – most of them as opening bowler in the 1st Grade. In addition he is also now chairing the committee running the 2011 Australian Country Cricket Championships, to be held in the Bunbury region
Volunteering highlights:
- First In-2-Cricket program being run in 2004/05.
- Inaugural Junior and Senior teams taking to the field in October 2005 (1st & 2nd Grade in seniors, u/11’s and u/14’s in juniors).
- Construction of the club’s first piece of infrastructure (synthetic turf wicket) in March 2006.
- Construction of four practice nets and storage facilities (end of 2006).
- Construction of full turf wicket block and second artificial wicket (2009).
- First game on the turf facility November 2009.
- By the 2009/10 season the club had teams in all grades of the senior competition (1st–4th) as well as seven junior sides and 35 kids enrolled in the In-2-Cricket program, proving the vision originally held by two people had merit and that all the hard work and stress had been worth it.
Club and volunteering challenges:
- Building a club from nothing.
- Funding a large number of infrastructure projects, predominantly through member fundraising activities.
- Maintaining the enthusiasm and energy when the inevitable difficult periods arise.
- Trying to maintain a work-family balance in amongst significant ongoing volunteering activities.
